Bowerham
15 mins walk from Lancaster's city center. Great for St. Martins students, but also on the main Lancaster University bus route - a good selection of student houses and a choice of local shops

Greaves
The best of both worlds: student housing within walking distance of both Lancaster City Centre and Lancaster University. Student friendly shops and takeaways.

Hala
Convenient access to Lancaster University. Hala has its own supermarket (Booths) and is on the main bus route. Houses in this area tend to be semi-detached and offer good sized gardens.
Scotforth/Picadilly
Along with Hala and Galgate the Scotforth area is one of the closest areas to the Lancaster University campus. It's about a 20 minute walk into the center of Lancaster and has plenty of shops. It's close to Booth's supermarket and is located on the Lancaster University/city bus route.
Galgate
A small village South of Lancaster. It is very close to the Lancaster University campus. Some Students find the location very convenient - particularly Postgraduates - but is a 20 minute bus ride from Lancaster center.
East Lancaster

East Lancaster covers the area stretching from behind the Sugarhouse and Dalton Square area up to the Ashton Memorial. Most of the student houses in this area are victorian terraces with some student houses on this side of Lancaster benefiting from great views across the Bay.

Moorlands
Towards the Ashton Memorial. Student houses in this area of Lancaster tend to be smaller - ideally suited to smaller groups and postgraduate students. Centrally located with a good mix of students and locals.

Primrose
A little area of Lancaster backing onto St. Martins College. Great mix of students and families. The area is centrally located near the city centre and just a couple of minutes walk from the main bus route.
Freehold
Close to the Sugarhouse and Lancaster Sainsbury's, Freehold is only 5 mins walk into the city. Friendly area with high proportion of students.
Central & Castle
These areas cover the part of the city from the Canal, around the Castle through to River Lune. Properties in this area of Lancaster tend to be flats rather than houses which would typically be more suited to postgraduate students. Flats tend to be modern and are well located for the city center as well as Lancaster Bus Station, but rents can be relatively expensive.

City
Great area if you want to experience Lancaster's vibrant night life. Central for everything from Lancaster Bus Station to restaurants and pubs. The majority of city center properties are flats above shops.

St Georges Quay & The Marsh
An up and coming area of Lancaster - great views of the Castle and Quay. Redeveloped in recent years the area offers good access for both the city and the University due to the proximity of Lancaster Bus Station.

Aldcliffe Road
By Chancellor's Wharf and the Lancaster Canal. Close to the city - a fantastic location. Good bus access to Lancaster University, student houses in this area tend to be larger to suit bigger groups.
Fairfield
Just 5 mins walk to the city center. One of the leafy, green areas of Lancaster - mainly residential with the odd cornershop. Popular with students of kinds with Lancaster Train Station on the doorstep.
